Alan is a successful and highly experienced NHS innovation support professional with expertise in the areas of innovation evaluation, intellectual property assessment and protection, development of concept clarifying prototypes, obtaining feedback, licensee identification and licence negotiation.

His innovation support success  is based on a twenty- five year career in medical device Research and Development with responsibilities ranging from innovative concept development to protection of intellectual property, establishing business plans, negotiating the regulatory pathway, prototype production, risk management, management of verification and validation testing including clinical evaluations/investigations and finally product marketing.

Alan is a proven communicator at all levels of development life cycle from innovators and manufacturing operators to surgeons and regulatory personnel.
